Dave Lindsay
Lover of genealogy and picturing the moment.

How It All Began
Walking the lake district in Cumbria at an early age gave me the inspiration to see more of this beautiful land, capturing every moment on camera. Visiting the mountainous landscapes frequently I started to take more of an interest into the taking of my photos, angles and colours etc. I soon had a big collection and this feeling of capturing every memory progressed into my family holidays and trips in Europe, I could easily take a few hundred each trip.
I furthered my interest by buying a Canon EOS 700D, my "Big camera" I call it. I am an amateur at photography and this camera suits me. I now want to further my abilities and start taking the best picture, the money picture, the perfect picture that is remembered. I love recording historical places, houses, castles, abbeys and even graveyards. the grey and older it is the better. Landscapes and natural beauty tops the list too, Spring to Winter, every colour changing moment, record it. History not my best subject at school many years ago, but I love it now. There is too much history out there and not enough time to enjoy it, so do what you can do. I see and I record it, its on your doorstep, right in front of you, it is overwhelming and love every part of our past. This is were the genealogy part comes in, years now I have loved doing my family tree, my blood line and where I am from. The answer is there you just have to work hard to find it. Lindsay is a famous name and originates from Lincoln, UK. Do vikings get a mention, America and Ireland? But I do know my blood line goes well into Scottish life I just do not know if I can find a King at the end or maybe just an Earl would be nice. Is it your turn to find out, are you interested?

I don't feel I know who I am. ... [T]he fact that you don't know who you are stays with you for life. ... I still feel I have no identity. I don't think anybody can appreciate it when they have not experienced this vacuum.
I stand before the mirror and ask, "Who am I?"

A family is a unit composed not only of children but of men, women, an occasional animal, and the common cold.

It will take a future genealogist to find us again.
Make it a good find.”
